Four
types of temperaments are found in human nature,
Yoga is also divided according to human nature.
A man of action can easily succeed in Karma Yoga,
A devotional man can succeed in Bhakti Yoga.
A man reason can succeed in Raja Yoga,
A philosophical man can succeed in Jnana Yoga.
The Yoga of devotion is called Bhakti Yoga,
The Yoga of meditation is called Raja Yoga.
The Yoga of action is called Karma Yoga,
The Yoga of Jnana is called Jnana Yoga.
These are the four main branches of the Yoga,
There are besides some minor branches of Yoga.
Reason, emotion, will and actions are necessary for growth,
All branches should be integrated for a balanced growth.
Yoga in dynamic form is Integral Yoga,
Harmonious living is the aim of Integral Yoga.
It stresses the need for the balanced growth of personality,
Warns against tendencies which distort personality.
Yoga is the spiritual oneness of mankind,
Science of self realization for mankind.
People of all religious can easily practice Yoga,
Without abondoning own religion, they can practice Yoga.
Even a sceptic or an atheist can easily practice Yoga,
The desire to know God is the sole requirement of Yoga.
It is not a belief fostering consciousness,
No conformity to scriptures but desire of consciousness.
Yoga is free from dogmas and creeds,
It will help everybody who reads.
It is kind of spirituality beyond all religions,
It is spiritual orientation which is not religion.
Yoga can change any person into a cosmic man,
It sees no distinction between man and man.
A yogi’ virtous actions are not out of compulsion,
But are spontaneous,-without any compulsion.
Some people develop muscles at the cost of brain,
Yet others develop only the brain.
Some practice self-mortification, they disparage the soul,
Ignore social and humanistic values as a whole.
Some remain entangled in the social activities throughout their
lives,
Their emotional conflicts undermine peace of their lives.
Some follow the voice of the God by rejecting the world,
Some get enmeshed in a web of deceit and lies of the world.
Integral Yoga can help in the balanced growth,
That is physical, emotional, intellectual and ethical growth.
Soul’s progress is very slow in the ordinary life,
Yoga hastens the soul’s progress in human life.
Yoga was mistaken for renunciation in the past,
As evils and sufferings were linked to the creation at last.
They failed to realize the purpose of creation,
The world is futile, deceptive and an illusion was their declaration.
But saint Aurobindo asked how, when the Divinity is real,
How his creation could be unreal.
But the world is still in an imperfect condition,
And is passing through the transitory condition.
Renunciation of social bonds are deceptive in life,
And can’t solve the problem of real life.
They overemphasized renunciation and negation,
Due to their ignorance of the purpose of creation.
The Upanishads declared the world came from fullness of being,
Life is not ignorance but expression of joy in the heart of being.
Integral Yoga regards human body an abode of sins,
But yet valuable means of fulfillment akin.
It considers passion and impulses as sources of energy,
To scale the higher reaches of life by utilizing that energy.
To torture or mutilate the body in the name of religion is immature,
Body should be adequately developed for the spirit is mature.
Many follow spiritual path for self salvation,
But Integral Yoga advise to attain collective saluation. |
